Common Name:  Callippe Fritillary

Latin Name:  Speyeria callippe Boisduval, 1852
                        (N. Kondla, det.)

Length:  50 - 60 mm

Range: Southern third of Alberta

Habitat:  Prairie grasslands, foothills and parkland

Time of year seen: June to September (Additional Sightings)

Caterpillars Diet: Blue prairie violet

Other:  A widespread species occurring from the Pacific coast to Manitoba and south to Colorado.
