Length:  5 to 6  mm

Range: Throughout Alberta

Habitat:  Conifer forests

Time of year seen:  May to September (Additional Sightings)

Diet: Pollen - typically found on rose or dandelion

Other: A. inornata is a common dull black member of the Buprestidae family.  It is found throughout much of Canada and is associated with both spruce and lodgepole pine in Alberta.  At times it may be quite numerous on wildrose or yellow dandelion like flowers.  The larva are found under the bark of conifers. (Marshall, 2006)
