Other: A widely distributed species found in northeastern and
western North America. The Adult is brown in color with a distinctive
covering of dense hair on it's thorax and one small spine on either side of
its pronotum. The adults generally hide during the day and are
attracted to ultraviolet light at night. Larva bore in the sapwood of
dead and rotting pine and fir trees. (Eaton et al, 2006 & Furniss et al,
