Common Name:  Wood Tiger Moth or Black & White Tiger

Latin Name:  Parasemia plantaginis Linnaeus 1758
                        (R. Bercha, det., confirmed by B. Patterson)

Wingspan:  30 mm

Range: Throughout Alberta

Habitat: Moist wooded areas

Time of year seen: June to July

Caterpillar's Diet:  Herbaceous plants in undergrowth.
