Male River Bluet

Common Name:  River Bluet

Latin Name:  Enallagma anna Williamson, 1900
                        (R. Bercha, det.)

Length:  ~32 mm

Range: Southern Alberta

Habitat: Streams and irrigation canals

Time of year seen:  June to August  (Additional Sightings)

Diet: Insects

Other:  A large bluet found near running water.  Male River Bluets have distinctive large claspers.  Female River bluets range from green, brown to blue in color.
