Common Name:  Macoun's Arctic

Latin Name:  Oeneis macounii W.H. Edwards, 1885
                        (N. Kondla, det.)

Wingspan:  50 - 60 mm

Range: Northern half of Alberta extending south in the foothills and mountains to the Kananaskis area.

Habitat:  Pine and aspen forests

Time of year seen: May to August

Caterpillar's Diet:  Grasses or sedges
