Common Name:  Dogwood Thyatirid, Peach-blossom Moth

Latin Name:  Enthyatira pudens
                        (R. Bercha, det.)

Wingspan:  40 to 45 mm

Range: Alberta

Habitat:  Woodland with Dogwood understory

Time of year seen: Late April to June

Caterpillar's Diet: Dogwood

Other: This is a common species which is found across Canada.   Two color morphs are present: the more common pink and grey one pictured to the left and a rarer darker grey one with two brown spots at the trailing edge of the forewing (see here).  The adult moths emerge early in spring and are among the first on the wing.
