Preferred Flowers/Food:  Alfalfa & Bergamot

Time of year seen:  May to September

Caterpillar's Diet: Violets

Other: The Atlantis Fritillary is very similar to Aphrodite fritillary.  The two can be separated based on the habitat they are found in: the Atlantis has a preference for moist, mixed-wood forest and the Aphrodite is typically found on the prairies. The species overlap in the southern boreal forest region, in which case Atlantis is larger and has a dark chocolate-brown hind wing disc. (Schmidt, B. C.)
